We have been working really hard in the studio and have just finished this music video of our studio work:

Its been a while since I’ve posted on here to let people know what I’ve been up to.

In November I played the gig at The Bedford witch I won from Rock The House.

The gig was a lot of fun to play. I took a 7 piece band with me witch was made up of these awesome musicians:

Tom Sharp: Keyboard
Abi Uttley & Izzy Thomas: Backing Vocals
Chris Caulfield: Trumpet
Phil Meadows: Saxophone

I was back again at the bedford mid January singing with Abi Uttley

And we will be back in London at the bedford on the 11th of February, this time playing in the music showcase upstairs in the balroom. More info can be found here.

In other news, the recordings that I have been working on hard on for a few months are nearly complete, and one of the tracks that I recorded with Abi Uttley, ‘This About You’ has been played on BBC radio Leeds.

A few months ago I was one of the winners at Road to Galtres 2012 and got a slot at the Little Top stage at Galtres festival, just after The Buzzcocks came off the main stage.

For those of you who missed the festival, here’s what happened:

We wondered down to the arts barge tent to see what was going on in there and we saw that there was an open mic night. So Abi and I decided to do a song to promote our gig at the Little Top Stage. I noticed a double bass player getting his bass just before we went on so I asked him if he would play a song with us and quickly wrote a chart for our original song ‘Things about you’. He was a really good player and did a great job. The bass player is called Christian Topman. Topman by name, Topman by nature!

After that the Buzzcocks were just starting on the main stage, but we didn’t get there because something awesome happened in the Arts Barge tent. These guys stormed in and kicked up a funky rave (The New York Brass Band):

I have jammed with a couple of these people before. There’s Alasdair Simpson on percussion, and I have jammed with Andrew Cox a couple of years a go when he played sax for my disney band. Here’s a reminder of that:

I had a great day in london on Wednesday for rock the house 2012. I came second in the finals for rock the house with Jen Armstrong getting first place for the solo act category.

Congratulations also to Korks wine bar for finishing 3rd in the best venue category. Both me and Korks were nominated for the competition by Greg Mulholland MP.

I enjoyed watching all of the finalists in the bands and solo artists categories perform. The full list of winners for the competition can be found here

After the competition, we headed to the terrace of the houses of parliament for the award ceremony.

You remember that Rock the House thing I told you about?

Yeah, well I’m in the final this wednesday in London! .

Out of all of the constituencies in the country five solo acts were selected for the finals; Jen Armstrong, Kevin Pearce, Victoria Ward, Lauren Wright Official and myself.

Wish me Luck (even though I don’t believe in luck)

Rock the house is back for a second year. And I have been nominated by my local mp, Greg Mulholland, to represent the Leeds north west constituency in the solo act category!

If I am put through to the next stage I will be performing down in London on the 30th of May at the house of commons for the live final.

My latest song, ‘Things About You’ featuring the wonderful and talented Abi Uttley has recently been ranked number one on BCB radio‘s list to top songs by local artists.

Earlier this week I went on a long overdue trip to London. In fact it was the first time I have visited London this Millennium. The main purpose of the trip was to perform at the prestigious Bedford in Ballham.
